Our Story

Started by Two Frustrated Athletes

VeloFit was founded in 2017 by two former college athletes who were tired of the same problem: gyms that wasted your time.

Our co-founders (D1 track and college football backgrounds) moved to Raleigh for work and found that every gym required hour-long classes you had to book days in advance, or gave you zero structure and just a room full of equipment.

They wanted something different: coached workouts that fit into lunch breaks. No scheduling. No waiting. Real results in minimal time. So they opened a 2,800 sq ft studio on S Dawson St with 8 members and a simple idea: classes start every 15 minutes, 15 minutes of maximum effort, then you're done.

Eight years later, we've trained over 500 active members. The philosophy hasn't changed. The 15-minute interval system hasn't changed. We just got better at it.

Four principles that guide everything we do at VeloFit.

Efficiency Over Duration

More time in the gym doesn't mean better results. 15 minutes of focused, coached work beats 60 minutes of wandering around equipment. We're here to make you stronger and fitter in the time you actually have, not the time fitness magazines say you need.

Community Over Competition

You're not here to beat the person next to you. You're here to beat yesterday's version of yourself. We celebrate PRs, first pull-ups, showing up after a hard week. Leave your ego at the door. Bring encouragement for the person struggling next to you.

Three 15-minute classes per week for 6 months will transform your body more than sporadic 90-minute sessions. We designed VeloFit around this truth: the best workout program is the one you'll actually stick to. That's why we make it stupid-easy to show up.

Whether you're a former college athlete or haven't worked out in 10 years, you belong here. Every exercise has scaling options. Every trainer knows your name. Every class is small enough (max 12 people) that you get real coaching, not just supervision. Nobody gets left behind.
